I have a 2001 silverado 1500 4.3 I would like to put a set of 35's on it and some new rims. How much of a lift would I need and do you think a 4.3 would do ok pulling those tires? Thanks alot!!

I'd guess about 3-4 inches but I'm not a chevy guy. I'd think the 4.3 would do fine but it's going to depend on the gearing as much as anything else. You can build a 4.3 up pretty strong too.

You talkin suspension or body lift? I really have no clue. My truck has 33's on it now. Thats the way it was when i bought it. I'm guessing the previous owner just messed with the torsion bars. It barely has enough room from rubbin the bumper now. I'd like 35's and slightly wider to give it a nice beefy look. I appreciate your input!

I'll say this, I've got a 98 F150 with a 5.4L, I put 33's on it with the stock suspension. It hated life. Lost a ton of power, especially for when I was towing. I went back to stock size tires and it got back to being a halfway decent tow rig. Based on that experience, I just don't see how a fullsize truck with a V-6 is going to handle 35's well at all.
